AA turns 80 and Chapter Six is born in NSW!
Chapter Six Gathering at the National Convention in Sydney 2025
We were absolutely ecstatic to celebrate 80 amazing years of Alcoholics Anonymous in Australia! Having Chapter Six join in made the occasion even more unforgettable. After some engaging discussions with the Host Planning Committee (HPC) of the National Convention, we eagerly set our Chapter Six meeting for 3:30 PM on Saturday, 19 April 2025. The last-minute switch from Friday to Saturday was a stroke of luck, allowing a few members to ride up from Victoria. We also made a crucial update to our meeting listing—changing “Chapter Six MC” to “Chapter Six Motorcycle Group.” What a relief that was!
We had over 40 enthusiastic AA members at the meeting, with Paul and I co-chairing, and it was a tremendous success. The event kicked off with a bang thanks to Em (WA) and kept the energy high throughout. Eleven members shared their stories: Em (WA), Matt (VIC), Ellie (WA), Dero (VIC), Dallas (NSW), Gary (VIC), Toya (WA), Scott (VIC), Michael - Kickstart (VIC), Tony (WA), and myself (Pen - VIC). The meeting generated significant excitement among attendees, who expressed how much they loved it, drawing easy comparisons to the Chapter Six meeting at last year’s Adelaide Convention.
