STANLEY 2017 - 13th May

Its Saturday morning 7.30,  I’m just getting ready to do my morning walk, the sun is peeping over the top of the trees and it looks like it is going to be brilliant day, by the time I have got back home a half hour later the sun is shining bright and the sky crystal clear, this is fantastic, because today we are riding to the Stanley Chapter Six Motorcycle Group AA meeting.

Its nearly 9.30 and I have got the bike out waiting for Tom and any other riders coming with us , by 9.30 riders have turned up from Nagambie , Bendigo and Castlemaine and we are on our way to Parker’s Pies at Rutherglen to catch up with the Stanley Group members to have lunch then head for Stanley for the meeting, we pick up another member at Numurkah and our ride there is great with beautiful weather and we are making good time, apart from a detour around a closed road .

We arrive at Rutherglen to find the Stanley mob already there with a rider from Wangaratta, after filling our bellies we all headed off to Stanley, it was an incredible ride with windy roads and twisting turns with the sunshine filtering through the trees.

Arriving at Stanley we find more members from Shepparton and Bendigo waiting for us, the meeting was fantastic with everyone sharing and scoffing into the very tasty cakes baked by Steve’s very thoughtful wife, thank you, with the meeting over we headed for Maccas on the highway for a last get together and coffee.

Tom and I stopped at Mooroopna to have some tea and another coffee then headed for Kyabram , arriving home at about 7.30 a bit tired after such a long day but very grateful  to be able to share a day with such caring sober members, thank you all for being there, and until we ride again I’ll c u wen I’m lookin' at ya...
