MUNDIJONG (WA) 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Our Mundijong 10th Anniversary was just that little bit special back in March. Special because Ron E, Dave Dero, Kickstart, Al, Bernie and Matt made the Ride across the "Paddock" to ride with us and attend the Anniversary meeting. It was a long time in the planning with Ron writing up an Itinerary titled, “Keeping the Dream Alive”

 

Anyway, the boys were met out at Southern Cross Thursday the 20th of March by 5 WA Chapter Six Riders and after spending the night in the local motel the ride was continued by all into Perth. Ron was the guest speaker at the Rockingham Peoples Group that Friday night which was organised well in advance. The 6 Victorian members were all looked after regards accommodation with 3 of them including Ron staying with the writer.

 

I mentioned to Ron that we would drive him to the meeting especially after the long ride he and the others had just undertook. He looked me squarely in the eye and said, “Na mate I’m riding, got to represent”. Lol, which I expected anyway. The meeting was great, and it was a packed house. Following the inspiring shares of Ron and I think all of our Visitors, 5 new members joined Chapter Six.

 

The 10th Anniversary ride was epic with 18 riders turning up. The ride was up through Perth’s hills to Peter Brocks Memorial via the “Roller Coaster” road ( it must be ridden to be believed )  then to lunch and finally to the Mundijong Church to have the meeting. 70 AA members and family were there to celebrate. During the meeting Special mention was made of the 6 who made the journey across from Victoria especially Ron who was days away from turning 82. What a huge effort. Awesome meeting and of course we had the biggest cake and feed. (Special mention to Teresa my wife Nicole my niece. Emma, Steve and their Boys for their contribution and Help).

 

What a day, a Ride, a meeting and to top it off a great feed and cake to wind up the Day.
